Moved to Jericho (later Bainbridge), Chenango Co., New York, 1808. Moved to Windsor (later in Colesville), Broome Co., New York, 1811. Became acquainted with JS when Knight’s father hired JS, 1827. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter–day Saints by Oliver Cowdery, May 1830, at Colesville. Moved with Colesville branch to Thompson, Geauga Co., Ohio, May 1831, and to Independence, Jackson Co., Missouri, July 1831. Married Betsey Covert, 22 Mar. 1832, at Kirtland, Geauga Co. Moved to Clay Co., Missouri, Dec. 1833; to Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri, 1837; to Lima, Adams Co., Illinois, 1839; to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, 1840; and to La Harpe, Hancock Co. Ordained a priest at La Harpe. Moved back to Nauvoo, 1844. Captain in emigrant company traveling through Iowa Territory, 1846. Moved to what became Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa Territory, 1846. Migrated to Salt Lake City, 1850. Died at Salt Lake City.
